Event Description
Join us for a meaningful and impactful community cleanup weekend!
As part of the regional Source to Sea Cleanup, hosted by the Connecticut River Conservancy—and supported by community groups across the 410‑mile Connecticut River watershed—Nourse Farms is proud to host a two-day cleanup event under the Sunderland Bridge in Sunderland, MA
This is the 29th annual Source to Sea clean up event. Since 1997, groups of volunteers have come together to remove trash from local rivers in support of clean water and healthy habitats throughout the Connecticut River watershed – in New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Cleanup efforts help to advocate for environmental policy that stops pollution at the source.
What We’ll Do:
Volunteers will gather at the Farm and remove trash on River Road (from Deerfield to Whately), McClelland Farm Road, along the banks of the CT river, and under the Sunderland Bridge.
All ages and abilities are welcome—just bring sturdy shoes or boots. Gloves, bags, and basic cleanup tools (like grabbers) will be provided.
Why It Matters:
Each fall, thousands of volunteers in NH, VT, MA, and CT take part in this event. In 2024 alone, over 1,000 volunteers removed more than 39 tons of trash across the watershed. By joining this effort at Sunderland Bridge, Nourse Farms is making a direct, positive impact on our local portion of the Connecticut River.
