Event Description

This year we are focusing on cleaning up Hop Brook and the surrounding park. Hop Brook runs along the back of Charter Oak Park, and this space presents many different opportunities for collecting litter. Adventurous volunteers may wish to walk through the shallow waters to clean the brook and its adjacent banks. Others may choose to hike up and down the accessible parts of the stream banks. And for those looking for flat, easy footing, the playground, pavilion, tennis and basketball courts, fields, and parking lot are all great places to find litter.

Brook walkers should wear rain boots or waders. Hikers should wear appropriate footwear. Gloves, trash pickers, buckets, and water will be provided. T-shirts will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Let’s show how much we love Manchester by keeping it green!

Note: The event will take place rain or shine. If it is raining, the accessibility of various spaces may be more limited.
