One of our best annual traditions is this weekend!
Saturday at 9am we will participate in Source to Sea. This effort has groups all along the Connecticut River cleaning specific sections in an effort to beautify our local waterways and help the environment.
It’s only our Cub Scouts covering this section, Canal Park in South Hadley.
We gather at 9am dressed to be outside cleaning up trails. We typically only clean trash and don’t need to do any trail work (recently, two Eagle Scout projects did that for us).
Gloves and bags will be provided or you can bring your own.
The event will wrap up before noon and we will not be going into the river obviously. Scouts will group up with parents and clean along the trails by the river.
I recommend bug spray, long pants and boots (could be muddy) but still wear your green Pack T shirt.
