Event Description

We will launch and land our boats from the docks at Northampton Community Rowing. All Out Adventures has a limited number of kayaks (single and tandem) to loan, with priority given to Veterans and AOA program participants. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the island!

1pm: Meet at Northampton Community Rowing
1:30m: Launch and paddle to Elwell Island
1:30pm – 3:30pm: Clean up whatever we can from the island
3:30pm: Paddle back to Northampton Community Rowing
4pm: Finish and head for home

Throughout the day, AOA staff will paddle back with participants either to NCR or to the Elwell Recreation Area, just across the river for trips to the accessible porta-potties available at both locations.

Our launch and landing location is wheelchair accessible. The cleanup on Elwell Island will require getting out of kayaks and walking short distances. Wheelchair users are welcome! We can bring wheelchairs with us, or participants are welcome to stay in their kayaks to collect trash brought to them by ambulatory participants.
