Saxony Dog Park

Site Description

This site was recommended by the Vernon Parks and Recreation Department. It features a wooded loop trail situated adjacent to a designated dog park. The trail follows the Hockanum River, a tributary of the Connecticut River, and offers ample parking with convenient access from West Street (Route 527) in Vernon, Connecticut.

Designed as an extension of the dog park, the trail provides a space where owners may walk their dogs on-leash in a natural setting. However, the area has experienced frequent use by nighttime visitors, resulting in a notable accumulation of litter and environmental degradation.
