Site Description
The debris is right along the water line on river bottom and lodged into the river bank. The bank is steep and on private property. It is not accessible from the road. Best access is from a small boat or canoe/kayak. The river bottom is firm here. It contains shale rock. One is able to get out of a boat and walk close to shoreline during low flows this time of year. I noticed plastic table cloths along the shore here and pulled over in my kayak. I picked up as much as I could which included two plastic table cloths, a piece of Styrofoam, a 3 ft x 1″ plastic pipe. A small 2 ft long metal tube. A glass candle holder, a mess of heavy wire, a 3″ metal pipe elbow, a qt size broken bottle. Left behind is more glass lodged into the river bank and metal parts which appear to look like a former radio and some metal engine parts. Plus rusting metal cans. It appears this was a former dumping site.
