Site Description
Mitch’s Island is a floodplain forest Island in the Connecticut River, accessible only by boat. It is mostly forested with poison ivy and stinging nettle present in the understory. It is subject to erosion so its shoreline is a mix of steep, eroded terrain and walkable beach-like areas. Interior areas are generally flat but largely vegetated beneath the forest canopy, with some remnant walking paths.
