Site Description

If you approach the site just off RT.5 from the south you should have a “easy” walk to the outfall site. Conveniently there is a small town owned parking lot near the access point. I would like to mention that there is a private driveway separating the access point and the town owned parking lot so please do not drive down or block this driveway. Once you reach the outfall the trash can be found along the bank running parallel to RT.5 and in the general area of the outfall we have labelled as outfall #84. If you follow the brook you will see that it intersects the main stream that is Cooley Brook. Most of the trash accumulated appears to be thrown from passerby’s driving on RT.5 which makes this location a reoccurring issue. The area appears to be muddy and maintains a constant flow so water proof/resistant gear is suggested. Also please be careful as rusty metal parts have been witnessed and may be sharp. The bank running along RT.5 is steep, please watch your step.
