Beachgrounds Park Riverfront

Site Description

This is the shoreline of Beachgrounds Park on the east bank of the river, below the Holyoke dam and the Rte 116 bridge. There is parking right on the edge of the riverbank, which is steep and rocky. It’s a popular picnic and party spot, with nice views of the rapids below the dam. Fisherman erect tents and shelters that end up washing into the river every year when the water levels rise. There are several paths down the bank to the water. Nearby riverbank parks may also be in need of cleanup.
